EVA Air Collaborates with AIT, Microsoft and FPCC to Deliver Emissions Reductions

EVA Air, Taiwan’s leading independent airline, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with leading global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics (AIT) to jointly advance EVA Air’s Green Transportation Programme over the next two years. In the first year of the collaboration, EVA Air will provide approximately 15,000 metric tonnes of CO₂e in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) environmental attributes to Microsoft, helping reduce the Scope 3 emissions associated with air transportation of its cloud infrastructure equipment. Microsoft and Formosa Petrochemical Corporation (FPCC) also attended the signing ceremony, demonstrating a shared goal across the aviation, energy, logistics and technology sectors to accelerate lower-carbon air transportation.

EVA Air celebrated the launch of its new nonstop service between Washington D.C. and Taipei, marking a significant expansion as the airline’s 10th North American gateway. As the first airline to offer nonstop service between these two cities, the new route represents a key milestone in strengthening connectivity between Taiwan and the U.S. East Coast. A special inaugural ceremony was held at Washington Dulles International Airport to commemorate the milestone and welcome the inaugural flight.

EVA Air President Clay Sun Named First Taiwanese Member of IATA Board of Directors

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has elected EVA Air President Clay Sun to its Board of Directors, making him the first Taiwanese representative to serve on the organization’s highest governing body and marking the first participation by a Taiwan-based airline. The announcement was made at the 82nd IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
