The struggle for women to get care in Afghanistan

In this edition, French filmmaker and journalist Mélanie Nunes speaks to  FRANCE 24 about her investigative report, "Afghanistan : les soignantes de l'ombre" or ‘the unsung female carers’. It follows women in the country as they try to get the heath care they need, as well as following health care providers themselves as they try to offer their services. Nunes says that the women who participated in the short-form documentary did so because “nobody cares about what they think" in their own country. "Afghanistan : les soignantes de l'ombre" recently came out on the Arté television channel.

President Donald Trump will pay his respects at the Pentagon rather than in New York, where the attacks by hijacked passenger planes on the World Trade Center towers claimed the largest number of the 2,977 total victims recorded on that day.

The long-standing and strategic link between Russia and Germany severed for good.

RN 'breach': Amid 'severe' differences with 'bright, young' Bardella, Le Pen 'dictates party line'

François Picard is pleased to welcome Victor Mallet, Financial Times Senior Editor at the World News Desk. He interprets the emerging tensions between Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella as more than a clash of personalities. They reveal a deeper struggle over the political future of France's far-right National Rally is becoming as they find themselves in prime position in their hunt to capture the French presidency. Bardella is formally president of the party and has developed his own political constituency, particularly among younger voters and parts of the business community. Yet Mallet argues that Le Pen continues to exercise the decisive ideological and strategic authority.
