SriLankan Airlines is back in full force in the Middle East with the resumption of six weekly flights to Kuwait from 8 August 2026, completing the restoration of its network across the region and once again offering passengers the convenience of a consistent flight schedule. SriLankan’s Middle East network spans Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Doha and Kuwait, with carefully timed schedules offering passengers seamless connections via Colombo between the Middle East and southern Indian cities, including Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Madurai and Cochin, in under 90 minutes.

UK aviation hits record passenger numbers, despite Middle East disruption

New UK Civil Aviation Authority data shows more than 81 million passengers travelled through UK* airports between April and June, breaking last year’s record for travel in the same period. This continued the trend seen in the first three months of 2026 of holidaymakers flying in search of European sun. The number of passengers travelling to Madrid and Barcelona increased by 15% and 11% respectively.
