This year’s celebrations carry added significance for the airline: flyadeal itself took to the skies for the first time on National Day, 23 September 2017, with its maiden flight from Jeddah to Riyadh. Nine years on, the carrier marks the occasion from a considerably larger domestic and international network.

Air Serbia named Airline Market Leader

Air Transport World (ATW) has named Air Serbia Airline Market Leader as part of its 52nd annual Industry Achievement Awards. The carrier had previously won the accolade in 2017. ATW’s airline awards were established in 1974 to recognise excellence in the air transport industry and are well-respected across the sector for their integrity and independence, attracting hundreds of airline nominations every year. “Our panel of editor and analyst judges voted strongly in favour of Air Serbia being the 2027 ATW Airline Market Leader recipient. The Air Serbia team has worked diligently to keep growing and improving this airline, providing critical air connectivity within and beyond the Central European market. I congratulate Air Serbia and its leadership”, Karen Walker, ATW Editor-in-Chief, said. Chile-based LATAM was selected Airline of the Year. Other award recipients include Scoot (Eco-Airline of the Year), Jet2 (Value Airline of the Year), American Airlines (Force for Good, co-presented with Airlink nonprofit), Jordanian CEO Samer Majali (Leadership Excellence), Cathay Cargo (Cargo Operator), Pittsburgh International Airport (Airport of the Year), Air France-Groupe ADP (Airline-Airport Partnership) and Saudia Airlines COO Suliaman Yaqoobi (Joseph S. Murphy Award). The 52nd ATW Awards will be presented at a Gala dinner in Milan, Italy, on Thursday, December 10, 2026. The dinner will be held in conjunction with the CAPA World Airline Leader Summit 2026. Commenting on the accolade, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “Being named an Airline Market Leader is a special honour for us and proof that Air Serbia, as Serbia’s national airline, is a proud ambassador for its country around the world. In a year in which we have continued to decisively expand our network and introduce new direct services to key destinations worldwide, our goal is to represent Serbia in the best possible way and ensure that it is recognised at the highest international level”. He added, “This award crowns the work of our team of dedicated professionals, who improve the quality of our services and the experience of our passengers every day, making a direct contribution to connecting the world with Serbia. Saudia Ranks First Worldwide in On-Time Performance for the Third Consecutive Month in 2026

Saudia, the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been ranked the world’s most on-time airline for arrivals in July 2026, according to the latest monthly report from Cirium, the global aviation analytics provider. The airline recorded an on-time arrival rate of 87.24% after operating 16,406 flights during the month. The ranking comes during the peak summer travel season, making it particularly significant as airlines worldwide manage higher flight volumes and increased operational complexity. Despite these demands, Saudia maintained the highest level of operational reliability among airlines globally.
