A gold mine collapse on Wednesday killed at least 67 people in a remote area in Sudan, a medical group and survivors reported. The destruction occurred at the al-Zara gold mine, located in West Kordofan province – an area under the control of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, who have been at war with the country’s military for over three years.
