US sanctions Iranian crypto exchange BitBank over alleged IRGC transfers

The US Treasury sanctioned Iranian crypto exchange BitBank and its software developer over alleged sanctions-evasion activity. Treasury alleged that BitBank processed Bitcoin payments linked to the Hormuz Safe platform and moved hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The sanctions also targeted three associates of Iranian financier Babak Zanjani.
